House Teams

                           ACHIEVING TOGETHER

At Sholing Junior School, house teams were introduced as a way to promote collaboration, inclusivity, and a strong sense of team spirit among pupils. House teams create opportunities for children to contribute not only to their own achievements but also to the success of their team as a whole.

This system encourages pupils to build meaningful relationships across the school, as children from different year groups unite in shared goals and experiences. It fosters a sense of belonging and community, helping every child feel part of something bigger than themselves.

Throughout the academic year, pupils will take part in a variety of collaborative activities designed to strengthen teamwork and mutual respect. These include exciting challenges, competitive games, and themed events such as House Team Day and Sports Day. These occasions allow children to showcase their talents, support one another, and celebrate collective success.

Each house is named after a predator, chosen to represent qualities we aim to nurture in our pupils: focus, perseverance, bravery, determination, patience, and resilience. These characteristics serve as a source of inspiration, reminding children that they can approach challenges with strength and confidence, both individually and as part of a team.
